He was born in Germany on April 28, 1947, and was the son to the late Marion and Christa (Ebert) Markewycz. Yurgen attended and graduated from Lake Park High School in Roselle, IL and went on to study history and psychology from Western Illinois University. Yurgen worked in finance for over 40 years, at various banks in the area, many of those years as a bank manager. When he was younger, he loved playing and watching soccer. Yurgen was a very dedicated Merrill Lions Club member and was a very giving and generous man. Over the years, he and Ranndy would enjoy going vacationing to various locations. Yurgen was on the board for the Merrill Historical Society and the MAC Home. He was a funny and witty person with an infectious smile. His kindness and love will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
