Viola Frederick

Viola F. Frederick, 66, of Merrill passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital .

Viola was born September 2, 1943, to the late Herman and Lena (Willman) Gartman. She married Joseph Frederick July 3, 1976 in Merrill. He survives.

Viola was a 1962 graduate of Merrill Senior High School . After school, she worked for Weinbrenner Shoe Company and in 1966 she went to work for Semco until her retirement in 2009. Viola was a member of St. Stephen’s U.C.C. and the Humane Society of America. She loved animals, birds and flower gardening.

Survivors include her husband, Joe of Merrill, 2 daughters: Penny (Clay) Ossig and Marie Frick, all of Merrill; 1 stepdaughter: Barbara “Suzie” Frederick, Merrill; 3 sisters: Rose Luedtke, Patty Kanitz and Bertha Kanitz, all of Merrill; 5 grandchildren: Amber Ossig, Brooke Frick, Crystle Ossig, Nicole Osborne and Joe Osborne; and 10 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 brother, Herman.

Services will be held 7:00 PM Monday, March 29, 2010 at the Waid Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Scott Hawker will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 PM also at the funeral home. Waid Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.waidfuneral.com .
