Sharon Ann Sturm

On Saturday, August 22, 2026, Sharon A. Sturm, age 78, of Merrill, passed away at the Merrill Aspirus Hospital. She was born on February 23, 1948, to the late Hilbert and Naomi (Kilian) Raasch in Merrill. Sharon attended and graduated from Merrill High School with the class of 1966. She met her soul mate and best friend, Ronald Sturm, and the two were united in marriage on August 5, 1967. They had just celebrated 59 years together. He survives.

Sharon had worked with Hurd in Merrill for many years, as was also a nursing assistant in her younger years. She and Ronnie looked forward to going to St. Germain every year for their anniversary. Sharon loved settling in with a good book, doing word searches, crossword puzzles or Sudoku. She looked forward to family get togethers, especially baking lots of treats at Christmas time! Sharon was a skilled baker, and would also crochet many pieces for her family and friends. She was blessed to be able to be a homemaker and take care of the home and kids. Sharon would also babysit other peoples’ children as well. Her family has fond memories of her and her loving spirit, being kind and giving and was an all-around good person. Sharon will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

Sharon leaves behind her husband: Ronald Sturm, sons: Michael Sturm, Kevin (Pamela) Sturm, Brad (Lisa) Sturm, all of Merrill, WI, daughter: Kristy (Jacob) Heisinger of Chippewa Falls, WI, grandchildren: Michaela (Matt), Katie (Reese), Madison (Tyler), Dakota, Valerie (Roy), Caylie (Adam), Samantha and Katelynn and 6 beloved great grandchildren. She is further survived by her brothers: Glenn (Patty), Gary and Dale Raasch, sister: Laurie Young, sister-in-law: Carolyn (Tom) Rennie and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hilbert and Naomi Raasch, in-laws: John and Myrtle Sturm and sister: Darlene (Richard) Ostrowski.

The funeral service for Sharon will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Luther Memorial Church in Gleason, WI. Pastor Greg Laska will officiate. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service, also at the church. Burial will immediately follow the service and take place at the Maple Grove Cemetery in the town of Maine.
