Richard “Guzzy” Alan Guzinski, age 76, passed away on June 7, 2025, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born on June 28, 1948, in Tomahawk, Wisconsin, to Mr. and Mrs. Richard and Adeline (Johnson) Guzinski.

Following his graduation from Prentice high school, he served his country in the United States Navy. After completing his service, he earned a degree in marketing and went on to dedicate 30 years of his life to the United States Postal Service. It was during this time that he met Julie Kienbaum-Blaubach, and they were united in marriage on April 29, 2011.

Rick was an avid outdoorsman who found great joy in hunting, fishing, golfing, poetry writing and crafting his own fishing lures. He took deep pride in teaching Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) classes and in bringing Holy Communion to residents in nursing homes, demonstrating his strong commitment to both his faith and his community. He cherished every moment spent with family and friends, sharing stories, laughter, and lifelong memories. He will always be remembered for his generosity and kind-hearted nature. He truly lived his life helping others in need and devoted himself wholeheartedly to his Lord and Savior. His deep faith was evident in the way he lived, with kindness, humility, and unwavering strength of spirit.

Rick is survived by his loving wife Julie; daughters, Margaret and Abigail; stepchildren, John (Diane) Blaubach and Shelia Magray; step-grandchildren, Sami Landwehr and Alli Landwehr, Alexis (Alex) Yost, Kieara Koenig and Karson Koenig; 5 step-greatgrandchildren, sisters, Carol Barr and Kathy (Tim) Butkus; brother, David Guzinski. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of dear friends.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law, Henry and Eldina Kienbaum; infant daughter; brother, Gary Guzinski and brother-in-law, Dwayne Barr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 1708 E. 10th Street, Merrill, WI. Father Mariadas "Maria" Vallabhaneni will officiate. Rick will be laid to rest at St. Francis Cemetery with military honors.

Friends and family may gather for a time of visitation from 9:00 a.m-11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 20, 2025, at Taylor-Stine-Waid Funeral Home, 301 Eagle Drive, Merrill, WI. before proceeding to church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Rick’s name.
