Matthew Oemig

Matthew C. Oemig, 37, Merrill, passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at St. Clare’s Hospital, Weston after a short battle with cancer.

Matthew was born September 9, 1972 in Milwaukee to Harvey H.and Rosalie Mary (Reinke) Oemig. He attended St. Vincent’s High School in Milwaukee . Matthew enjoyed watching action movies, working on jigsaw puzzles and reading – especially if it was Star Wars related. He also loved his pet birds.

Survivors include his parents; Harvey H. and Rosalie Mary Oemig; 3 brothers: August Oemig, Milwaukee , Rob Oemig, Merrill and Harvey Oemig, Athens ; niece and nephew: Travis and Ania Oemig; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents: Margaret & August Reinke and Lottie & John Oemig.

A memorial service will be held Friday, April 30, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Waid Funeral Home. The Rev. Mel Hassel will officiate. Friends may call from 12 – 2 PM before the service at the funeral home.
