Mary Jo Karaba

Mary Jo (Doering) Karaba, of Merrill, Wisconsin, passed away on October 29, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories and a family who will forever cherish her.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, daughter, and dear friend. She had a kind heart and a caring spirit that touched the lives of many. As a nurse, she dedicated herself to caring for others, a reflection of the compassion she carried throughout her life.

She found happiness in the things she loved most. She enjoyed quilting, collecting things she loved, cooking, baking, canning, traveling, and camping. She especially treasured family gatherings and the time spent bringing loved ones together. She also had a special love for her cats and enjoyed feeding and watching the birds.

Mary leaves behind her loving husband, Jeff Karaba; her children, Reid M. (Stacey) Karaba and Heather Jo Karaba; her grandchildren, Isaiah R. Karaba and Jasmine M. Karaba-Kaufman; and her great-grandchildren, Jackson and one soon to arrive, and many other family members and loved ones.

She is preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Damin M. Martin; her parents, Reid and Geneva Doering; sisters, Darlene W. Hanneman and Bonnie Waldburger; and step-mother, Ada D. Doering.

Mary Jo will be remembered for her kindness, her love of family, her many talents, and the countless memories she created with those around her. Though her absence leaves an immeasurable space in the hearts of those who loved her, her legacy of love and compassion will continue through the generations of family she leaves behind.

She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
