Mary Ann Abraham

Mary Ann Abraham passed away peacefully on April 13, 2026, at the age of 85. Mary Ann was born on May 16, 1940, in Jennings, Wisconsin, to Fred and Elfreida (Matzke) Meister. She graduated from Wausau Senior High in 1958 and went on to lead a life filled with love, laughter, and a passion for serving others. 

Mary Ann spent over 20 years in the jewelry department at Walmart, where she was known for her friendly smile and excellent customer service. Many will remember her from her time as a waitress at Henrich's Club fish fries, where she served her community for more than 25 years. 

Mary Ann was a true green thumb, finding joy and solace in her garden. She cherished her time playing cards with the Hand and Foot card group and was an active member of the Trappe River Homemakers Club in the Town of Texas. Her faith was important to her, and she participated in a Bible study group at St. John's in Merrill, where she forged meaningful connections and friendships. 

Mary Ann leaves behind her children, Sherry Matsche and Lance (Jenny) Abraham, along with her cherished grandchildren, Leah (Tyler) Fandrey and Skyler Matsche, and her great-grandchildren, Kelsey and Linzie Pankow. She also leaves her sister, Ruthie Crandall, and several nieces and nephews who will always hold her memory in their hearts. 

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her beloved parents and siblings, Louise, Gloria, Raymond, and infant brother, Norman, as well as her aunts and uncles. 

The family will hold a memorial service to celebrate Mary Ann’s life on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Taylor-Stine-Waid Funeral & Cremation, 301 Eagle Dr., Merrill, Wisconsin, at 11:00 am. Visitation will be from 9:00 - 11:00 am.
