Mark “Swede” T. Lindstrom, 71, of Merrill, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2026, at Marshfield Medical Center -Weston.

Born on July 30, 1954, in Appleton, Mark was the son of John ‘Jack’ and Dorothy (Tebo) Lindstrom. He graduated from Merrill High School in 1972 and proudly served in the United States Army. After his service, Mark moved back to Merrill and worked for the railroad for several years. He then relocated to Green Bay for a few more years before he eventually moved back to Merrill and started working for the Merrill Water Utility and Merrill Street Department. He retired after 28 years with the water utility and street department.

On July 7, 2001, he married Vicki Rusch in Milwaukee, and they enjoyed their time together. Mark, affectionately known as "Swede," enjoyed spending many hours fishing. He was also an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, and Wisconsin Badgers, always ready to cheer on his teams.

Survivors include his wife, Vicki Lindstrom of Merrill; son, Casey (Bridget) Lindstrom of Denver, CO; step daughters, Rachel (Robert) Secora of Merrill and Sara (Seth) Clark of Merrill; grandchildren, Barrett Lindstrom of Denver, CO, Riley (Makayla) Secora of Merrill, Trevor (Miranda) Myers of La Crosse, Shailee Myers (fiancé Anthony Forsberg) of New London, and Decilyn Clark of Verona; great-granddaughters, Zelda and Aurora Secora of Merrill; sisters, Gale Janquart of Merrill, Wendy Lindstrom of Irma, Jane (Greg) Stevenson of Irma, and Amy (Conrad) Sternot of Port Huron, MI; brothers, Steve (Mary) Lindstrom of Green Bay and Dan (Pam) Lindstrom of Indiana; Vicki’s siblings, Sharon Horenberger of New Berlin, Deborah Bradford of Glendale, Jean (Bob) Miller of Louisville, KY, David Schupmann of Glendale, Tim Schupmann of San Antonio, TX, Jon (DeAnna) Schupmann of Milwaukee, and Angela (Jim) Poitz of New Berlin; and many nieces and nephews.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Dorothy Lindstrom; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rev. Arthur and Dorothy Schupmann; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Nancy and Jeff Villwock; and brothers-in-law, Mike Horenberger and Willie Bradford.

In accordance with Swede’s wishes, no formal service will be held.
