Mabel I. Marquardt

Mabel I. Marquardt, 101, Village of Maine, died Friday, May 9, 2025 at home under the care of family and Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

Mabel was born March 24, 1924, in the town of Corning to Rudolph and Emma (Krueger) Sabatke. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, town of Berlin where she married Norman J. Marquardt on September 14, 1946. Together they farmed in the town of Maine until 1976. She also held various part time jobs in the Merrill area. She was a long time member of Faith Lutheran Church, formerly Zion Lutheran Church, in the Village of Maine where she taught Sunday School and assisted with the paper and cardboard recycling programs which raised funds to build the current church.

Survivors include; one son, Allen (Barbara) Marquardt, St Cloud, MN; one daughter, Joy Marquardt, Merrill; two granddaughters, Lisa (Christopher) Partyka, Blaine, MN, and Dr. Michelle (Travis) Cole, Seattle, WA; five great-grandchildren, Hayden and Brynn Partyka, Blaine, MN, and Isaiah, Kelcie and Daxton Cole, Seattle, WA; and many nieces and nephews.

Mabel was preceded in death by her parents, husband Norman and brother Harold Sabatke.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at Faith Lutheran Church, Village of Maine with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. The Rev. Donald Love will officiate. Burial will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery, Village of Maine.
