Larry Allen Schiller

Larry Allen Schiller, age 66 of Merrill, died Thursday, August 27, 2009 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau , Wisconsin . He was born on April 11, 1943 in Merrill to the late Arnold and Phyllis (Kohnke) Schiller. He married Janice Degner on February 23, 1963 in Merrill. She survives.

Larry was a 1961 graduate of Merrill Senior High School . He was employed at Ward Paper Mill for 25 years and then at Lincoln Wood Products until retiring in 2007. He was a member of St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ. Larry enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting. He also liked spending time at his son Allen’s cabin and walking in the woods. Larry especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Larry is survived by his wife, Janice of Merrill; 2 daughters, Lana (Steve) Vickman of DePere and Susan (Pete) Smith of Pewaukee; 1 son, Allen (Beth) Schiller of Merrill; 6 grandchildren, Kyle & Kelsey Vickman, Carly & J.T. Smith and Amanda & Lucas Schiller; and 1 sister, Joan Schiller of Merrill. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother, Phillip.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 31, 2009 at 11:00 AM at St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ in Merrill. Friends may call on Sunday, August 30, 2009 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Waid Funeral Home and again on Monday, August 31, 2009, from 10:00 AM until the hour of services at St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ. The Rev. Scott Hawker will officiate. Burial will be at Merrill Memorial Park in Merrill. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ, the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
