Kenneth 'Kenny' Klug

Kenneth ‘Kenny’ W. Klug, 86, of Merrill, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2026, with his loved ones by his side. 

Kenny was born on August 26, 1939, in Merrill, to Reuben and Corinda (Amacher) Klug. After graduating from the Wisconsin Academy in Columbus, WI in 1958, he pursued his studies at Andrews University until he was drafted into the United States Army in November 1962. Kenny proudly served his country and was honorably discharged in November 1964. 

For over 20 years, Kenny dedicated himself to his work at Home Insulation in Wausau. He had also worked with S&R Concrete. Earlier on, Kenny worked in Texas and North Carolina building Army barracks. He was a man of deep Christian faith, known for his generous spirit and willingness to lend a hand with construction projects for friends and family. Kenny truly embodied a servant’s heart and was always ready to help others. 

When he wasn’t working, you could find him cheering on the Green Bay Packers, watching NASCAR races, or enjoying the great outdoors while hunting. Above all, he cherished spending time with his grandchildren. 

Survivors include his children, Randy (Mary Kay) Klug of Merrill and Matthew (Hollie) Klug of Chattanooga, TN; grandchildren, Jordan Klug and Justin Klug both of Merrill; sister-in-law, Shirley Klug of Merrill; and several nieces and nephews. Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Reuben and Corinda Klug; and siblings, infant Marjorie Klug, Doris (Sheridan) Johnson, and Daniel Klug. 

The memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, September 14, 2026, at Taylor-Stine-Waid Funeral & Cremation – 301 Eagle Dr., Merrill. Pastor Justin Spady will officiate. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 A.M., Monday at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Snow Hill Cemetery, Town of Scott, Lincoln County with graveside military rites conducted by V.F.W Post 1638 – Merrill.
