Judith “Judy” Rose Woller, age 78, residing in the town of Pine River, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at Pine Crest Nursing Home, while surrounded by her children and under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services. She was born on July 30, 1946 to the late Frederick and Rozella (Wolfe) Ohlman in Merrill. Judy attended and graduated from Merrill High School.
Judy was the founder and executive director for H.A.V.E.N, which she was committed to for over 30 years, until her retirement. She was very active in the Friends of Pine Crest campaign, the River Bend Trail and the state governor’s council in Madison. Judy was a strong -willed and determined woman. She was very frugal and an excellent grant writer and fundraiser for the organizations that she supported. If you knew Judy, you know that she was the #1 fan of Elvis! In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, working on puzzles, gardening and canning. Judy also loved to travel, especially to Hawaii. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren and cherished her time spent with them. Judy was a lifelong member at St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ in Merrill. She will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.
Judy is survived by her son: Fred (Jacki) Gruetzmacher of Merrill, daughters: Tanya (Joe) Stege of Green Bay and Margo (Angela) Woller-Carter of Seattle, grandchildren: Taylor Stege, Megan (Ryan) Labine and Jonathan Gruetzmacher (Juliana Hodges), great grandchildren: Christian, Nathaniel and Wyatt, siblings: Fred Jr. “Butch” (Pat) Ohlman, Caroline Welk and Rodney “Beaver” (Stephanie) Ohlman, brother-in-law: Bob Naef, sister-in-law: Darlene Ohlman, and her ex-husband and in-home caregiver: Raymond L. Woller Jr., along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson: Jorgan Stege and siblings: William “Henry” Ohlman, Rosalie “Bugs” Naef and Ronald Ohlman.
A memorial service for Judy will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ in Merrill. Pastor Mike Southcombe will officiate. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service, also at the church. Burial of her cremated remains will take place at a later date at the Springbrook Cemetery.
Family wishes to thank Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services for their compassion and support, as well as Pine Crest Nursing Home for their care and assistance. It was very much appreciated.
