James "Russ" Parratta

James “Russ” Parratta, age 84, of Merrill, WI, passed away suddenly at home on Sunday, February 8, 2026. He was born on August 18, 1941, to the late James and Clatilda (Juliano) Parratta, in Highland Park, MI. He attended school at Romulus High School in Michigan. Russ married Mary Goldberg – Taylor on June 15, 1963 in Ewen, MI. Sadly, she preceded him in death.

Russ worked for Hurd Millwork for many years as an over the road truck driver. He enjoyed seeing all the different scenery. He was always busy and never sat still! He liked to scrap metal and would spend time out in the woods cutting wood. Russ was a proud supporter of local law enforcement and was a very giving and helpful man, but also could be strong-willed. When he was younger, Russ looked forward to cruising around on his motorcycle. He will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

Russ is survived by his children: Mary, Michelle and Russell, 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, brother: Ralph Parratta and significant other: Gail Haig,

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife: Mary.

No services will be held, per Russ’s wishes.
