Infant Martin

Alex Matthew Martin, age 3 months and 25 days, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2010, at his home in the town of Schley , Lincoln county, surrounded by his family. He died from complications due to Spinal Muscular Atrophy – Type 1. Alex was born November 9, 2009 in Gleason to Ronald and Dorcas (Martin) Martin.

Alex was a very friendly baby and generous with his smiles. He touched many lives and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his parents, Ronald and Dorcas Martin, maternal grandparents; J. Luke and Lela Martin, Gleason, paternal grandparents; James and MaryJane Martin, Hagerstown , MD , 30 aunts and uncles and 94 cousins.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM,Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at the Gleason Mennonite Church , in Gleason. Friends may call from 2 PM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM on Monday at the Gleason Mennonite Church . Burial will take place in the Gleason Mennonite Cemetery .

The Prairie Pines Store in Gleason will be closed Tuesday in honor of Alex Martin's funeral.

The Waid Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
