Gloria Ann Kottman, age 82, passed away at Aspirus Hospital in Steven’s Point, Wisconsin after a short illness. Born September 13, 1943 in Merrill, at Holy Cross Hospital, to Martin and Leota (Culver) Berndt.
Gloria married the love of her life, Julius Richard Kottman at St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ in Merrill, on April 28, 1962. She worked for Hanson Glove, Weinbrenner Shoe, and Merrill Manufacturing. She also taught Sunday School at St. Stephens UCC.
Gloria is survived by her daughter, Beth Ann Weideman; son, Marty James Kottman; grandsons, Jasper Weideman and Daniel Grover all of Merrill; sisters, Bonnie Pftonhauer, Faye Stevenson, and Linda (LaVon) Anderson of Myton, Utah; brother, Evert (Cindy) Berndt of Franklin, Wisconsin; Sister-in-law, Sue Kottman, and many nieces and nephews.
Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Julius; infant son, Dale; parents, Martin and Leota Berndt; grandparents, William and Amanda Berndt and Everett and Julia Culver, along with many in-laws.
Visitation will take place at St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ, in Merrill, on Saturday, August 8, 2026 from 9am-11am. Service will be at 11am at St. Stephen’s UCC and burial will immediately follow the service at St. Paul’s Cemetery in the Town of Corning.
