Eileen Taylor

Eileen M. Taylor, 95, died Thursday, December 17, 2009, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital . She was born February 14, 1914, in Merrill, to the late Arthur and Ella (Klinger) Weber.

Eileen was a 1932 graduate of Merrill Senior High School . After graduating, she was employed at Employers Insurance and then at Wisconsin Public Service. Eileen married Donald Taylor June 7, 1938, in Merrill. She then became a homemaker. Eileen was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and served on the Altar Guild. She was very active in The Merrill Benevolent Association, Social Topics and was a leader in Brownies, Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts. Eileen was instrumental in forming St. Francis Girls Junior League. She was also a member of the Good Samaritan Hospital Auxiliary, of which she served as president. Eileen was a founding member of Confraternity of Christian Doctrine. She enjoyed playing bridge, gardening and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Annis; daughter-in-law, Dee Taylor; 8 grandchildren, Mark (Karin) Leopold, Mike Leopold, Richard (Mary) Taylor, Dave (Mary) Leopold, Patrick (Jennifer)Taylor, Cynthia (Gerald) Russell, Jennifer (Jeff) Thompson and Katie Annis, all of Merrill; 19 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; Donald, son; Richard Taylor, 1 sister; Merle Genrich, 1 grandson; Donnie Leopold and 1 son-in-law; Randy Annis.

Services will be held Tuesday, December 22 at 10:30 AM at Bell Tower Residence Chapel. The Rev. Edward Powell will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-8 Monday, December 21, at the funeral home and again from 9:30 until the time of service at Bell Tower . Burial to follow at St. Francis Cemetery . In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be given to Bell Tower Residence or the charity of choice. Waid Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
