Dale Clifford Plamann, age 86, of Merrill, WI (formerly of Baraboo, WI), passed away peacefully on Monday, February 3rd, at Woodland Court Elder Care in Merrill.
Dale was born on March 29, 1938, to Arthur and Rose (Ahlert) Plamann, the youngest of six children. He grew up cherishing his family and carried that love throughout his life. He enjoyed spending time with his daughters, their husbands, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He rarely missed a game, a spelling bee, a birthday, a track meet, or a performance. Dale was very proud of his service in the Colorado Air National Guard. Dale loved hunting with his brothers, nephews, and cousins, where stories and laughter were always shared.
While living in Baraboo, Dale was an active member of his Our Savior Lutheran Church. He enjoyed volunteering at the church’s cheese curd stand, ringing bells for the Salvation Army, and delivering Meals on Wheels to those in need. He developed many friendships with those he delivered to. Dale spent countless hours volunteering for the Sauk County Sheriff's Department doing TRIAD vehicle checks, working their booth at the convention, and supporting campaigning efforts. His heart for helping others was evident in his kindness to everyone he met. He spent several summers as a tour guide at Circus World in Baraboo and took great pride in his knowledge of the Ringling Brothers. Dale had a special way of bringing smiles to those around him. Whether it was with a well-timed joke, a wink, or a story told, he often left people giggling. His talent for the piano made him the life of the party, and he will be remembered by many. He treasured his trips to Hilton Head Island, where he made wonderful memories with loved ones. His humor, love, and stories will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Dale is survived by his loving daughters, Stephanie (Darrell) Oestreich of Merrill and Sara (Kirk) Kettleson of Wisconsin Dells; his beloved grandchildren, Tyler (Tessa Taylor) Oestreich, Alec (Madeline) Oestreich, Kennedy Kettleson, and Colin Kettleson; and his great-grandchildren, Breck, Sienna, and Eloise Oestreich; and a sister-in-law Maria Plamann
He is reunited in heaven with his daughter, Kelly Plamann; his parents; his sister Mildred; his four brothers, Al (Ruth) Plamann, Erwin (Dorothy) Plamann, Arthur Plamann, and Harold (Viola) Plamann, and many dear nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
