Charlotte F. Richardson

Charlotte F. Richardson, 87, of Merrill, passed away Friday, November 14, 2025, at Bell Tower Residence, Merrill.

Charlotte was born October 13, 1938, in Edgar, WI, daughter of Anton and Margaret (Lang) Straub. She married David Warosh on August 2, 1958, in Edgar. He preceded her in death on November 12, 1985. Charlotte married Victor Richardson on October 13, 1989, in Merrill. He survives.

Charlotte graduated from Holy Cross High School with the class of 1956. She worked at Employers Mutual until marrying Dave. She then settled into motherhood, and raising a family. Charlotte later returned to school, and, in 1978, she came away with a degree as a registered nurse and a career she loved. For 17 years she worked at Holy Cross Hospital as night supervisor and ER nurse and also Pine Crest Nursing Home for 15 years until she fully retired at the age of 72.

She met and married her beloved Victor in 1989 and moved to Merrill from Wausau to a house and land she loved. Her passion for nature and animals blossomed and she spent her time in her many gardens, raising goats, feeding the wildlife, collecting rocks and spending time at their cabin.

She was a fantastic cook, always improving her food from the actual recipe, much to the chagrin of those who tried to replicate. Char and Vic had so many interests and hobbies. From Vic creating her visions of metal and woodwork, to taking up gold panning, taking a trip to the casino, or just her beating everyone at a game of Boggle.

Char was very well known for her sense of humor and penchant for absolute silliness. She was an A+ grandma who embraced all the chaos of grandchildren and never needed store bought toys to engage a child.

Survivors include her husband, Victor Richardson of Merrill; children, Katie (John Harrison) of Wausau, Chris Warosh of San Antonio, TX, Kelly Warosh of Tacoma, WA, Dennis (Carrie) Warosh of Minnetonka, MN, and Todd Warosh (Jennifer Rosado) of Fort Meyers, FL; step children, Carrie Radon of Mount Prospect, IL and Ken Richardson of Milwaukee; daughter-in-law, Kim Trudeau of Wausau; grandchildren, Lucas, Ashley, Emily, Eryka, Greg, Rose, Jack, Sam, Ryan, Rachel, Megan, Kelli, Eric, Lizzy, Erin, Stephen, and Kimberly; and many great grandchildren; and sister, Laurinda (Jerome ‘Jerry) Finger of Hortonville.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her first husband, David Warosh; parents, Anton and Margaret Straub; son, Tim Warosh; step son-in-law, Ben Radon; grandson, Ben Sternhagen; and siblings, Miriam ‘Mim’ (Ralph) Pieper, Ronald (Suni Peterson) Straub, Bernice (James) Bolek, Dolores Straub, and Larry Straub.

The memorial service for Charlotte will take place at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Taylor-Stine-Waid Funeral & Cremation – 301 Eagle Dr., Merrill. Rev. Jon Chapa will officiate. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 A.M. Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the funeral home.
