Charles Frederick Reinhardt May 2, 1935 – April 26, 2026
Charles F. Reinhardt passed away Sunday, April 26th after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
Charles was a proud Veteran, serving in the Army National Guard. He worked as a welder for the former WI Fuel & Light and then over 35 years as a heavy equipment operator for Merrill Gravel & Construction. He also served multiple terms as a Town Supervisor for the Town of Scott. Outside of his everyday job, he farmed with his family raising pigs and beef cattle. He also loved working in the woods logging the Family Land and performing select cut wood harvests for others.
Charles married the Love of his Life, Faye (Bellin) Reinhardt on June 2nd, 1956. They spent 58 years together raising 3 children who blessed them with 7 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. They loved supporting their children and grandchildren at any type of event they participated in. They loved supporting the Merrill Community and were involved in many activities together until the untimely death of Faye on July 18th, 2014.
Charles enjoyed helping on the Family Farm, watching the Packers, Badgers, Brewers and Bluejays along with listening to polkas.
Charles was a long-time member of St. Stephens United Church of Christ, Merrill, and served in multiple roles including as an usher.
He is survived by his children, Kim (Nancy) Reinhardt, Kelly (Phil) Natzke, and Kent (Wendy) Reinhardt all of Merrill; grandchildren, Brent (Fiancée, Shavon) Reinhardt of Merrill, Kaili (Dan) Schaupp of Merrill, Bryant (Kristin) Natzke of Merrill, Danielle (Tom) Hilbert of Appleton, Matthew (Ava) Reinhardt of Merrill, Marcus (Liz) Reinhardt of Merrill and Mason (Andrea) Reinhardt of Hawaii; great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Tanner, Cassidy, Reece, Lenie, Molly, Jordan, Brady, Emma, Owen, Beau, Oaklee, Braxton, Brooklynn, Selah, Judah, Jaydah and #18 (boy) arriving in May.
Charles is also survived by his brother, Paul Reinhardt; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Judy Bellin, Cathy Krause, Joyce & Kermit Doering, and Donald & Lucy Bellin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted Reinhardt Sr. and Louise Reinhardt; parents-in-law, Walter and Marguerite Bellin; wife, Faye Reinhardt; infant son, Kevin Reinhardt; great-granddaughter, Brynn Hilbert; brother, Ted Reinhardt Jr.; sister, Louise Loew; brothers-in-law, Robert Loew, Randy Bellin, Albert Herdt and Duane Krause; and sisters-in-law, Hope Reinhardt, Phyllis Reinhardt and Dawn Herdt.
A special THANK YOU goes out to the nurses at Compassus Hospice Services, Taylor-Stine-Waid Funeral & Cremation, Pastor Mike Southcombe, St. Stephens United Church of Christ, and his special friend Joan Beyer.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, May 1, 2026, at St. Stephens United Church of Christ, Merrill. Rev. Michael Southcombe will officiate. Burial will take place in Snow Hill Cemetery with graveside military rites conducted by VFW Post 1638, Merrill. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 A.M., Friday, May 1, 2026, at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests planting a tree or making a donation to a charity of your choice in memory of Charles.
