Carri A. Leyk

Carri Ann Leyk, 44, of Merrill, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2026, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous eight-year battle with cancer. 

Born on November 18, 1981, in Wausau, Carri was the daughter of Richard and Sandra (Bendickson) Pozorski. She graduated from D.C. Everest High School in 2000 and went on to earn her accounting degree from Northcentral Technical College. Carri married the love of her life, Ryan Leyk, on May 21, 2011, in Wausau, and they shared a wonderful life together. 

Carri most recently worked as a technical assistant at Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, where she was known for her positivity and dedication. She loved cheering on her sons at their baseball games and spending time outdoors—whether it was snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, or sitting by the campfire with family and friends. Boat rides brought her so much joy, and she was an avid reader who treasured every moment with her family, especially her twin sister, Cassy. Carri’s faith was a foundation in her life, and she was a truly wonderful mother who always approached each day with a smile.

Survivors include her husband, Ryan Leyk and her sons, Rhett and Calvin all of Merrill; parents, Dick and Sandy Pozorski of Summit Lake, WI; in-laws, Russ and Mary Leyk of Merrill; sisters, Renee (Paul) Waliczek of Merrill, Victoria (Jason) Moritz of Wausau, and Cassy (Matt) Adams of Aniwa; brother, Glenn Pozorski of Merrill; sisters-in-law, Stacy (Shubh) Dakshindas of Houston, TX and Heidi Leyk of Wausau; nieces and nephews, Clint, Keegan, Brooke (Tyler), Alexa (Tyler), Trenton, Alayna, Romit, Ameeka, Noah, Conner, Alexa, Izabelle; great nieces and great nephews, Peyton, Beau, Oaklynn, and Myla; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Carri was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Edward and Caroline Pozorski; and maternal grandparents, Andrew and Johanna Bendickson.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 P.M., Monday, November 2, 2026, at St. John Lutheran Church, Merrill. Rev. Dwayne Lueck will officiate. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 A.M. Monday at church. Burial will take place at a later date in Elcho Community Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Carri’s name to St. John Lutheran Church or School, Merrill.
