Bonnie J. Hinz

Bonnie Jean Hinz, age 79, of Merrill, passed away Monday, September 21, 2026, at her home under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice surrounded by family. She was born April 5, 1947, in Merrill to Reuben and Betty (Schnoor) Maluegge. She married the loved of her life, William “Bill” Hinz on August 19, 1967. Their union lasted over 50 years.

Bonnie graduated from Merrill Senior High School. She enjoyed various hobbies such as: knitting, reading, camping, going to Hodag, golfing, going to Florida, spending time with her family at the shack, sitting on her front porch, and giving her great grandchildren rides on her golf cart. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.

Bonnie is survived by her three children, Todd (Kelli) Hinz, Tammy (Todd) Roman, and Troy (Nicole) Hinz. Her grandchildren: Brittany Hinz, Heather Hinz (Aaron), Ariel (Jacob) Roseland, Rheanna (Jake) Schulz, Molly Roman, Courtney Hinz, and Nicolas Roman. Her great grandchildren: Waylon and Baker Roseland, Hadley Schulz, and two little girls on the way. Her brothers, Mark (Twig) Maluegge, and Scott (Gayle) Maluegge. Along with nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Hinz; her parents, Reuben and Betty Maluegge; and in-laws, William Sr. and Clara Hinz, and Dale and Donna Hinz.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, September 28, 2026, at Taylor-Stine-Waid Funeral & Cremation – 301 Eagle Dr., Merrill. Rev. Scott Gustafson will officiate. Burial will take place in Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M., Monday, at the funeral home.
